-I don't know if you remember this, but Patrick was one of the first people I'd actually -- even first friends, but even just first person.
I think it was like the first or second night I was in town.
My brother Josh Kelley is an artist, and he's the reason I moved to Nashville.

-We went to Jackson's.
-And we went to Jackson's, which is no longer there.

But it was in Nashville, and we went to dinner, and I just remembered being like, "Man, good luck.
I don't know what's going to happen."
And next thing we know, we wrote some tunes together.
And I actually remember there was a demo tape that you guys were passing around that had "Love Don't Live Here Anymore."

I was like, "Oh, I had dinner with him."

-I remember visiting Swan Lake Iris Gardens when I was a kid.
Back then, I didn't realize that Swan Lake is the only public park in the U.S. that has all eight species of swans.
In fact, I just learned that thanks to Colette Daniels, who was nice enough to take me on a stroll down memory lane.
-Well, of course, for the community, it's just priceless.
It's a community treasure.
We're all very proud of it.
It's amazing to see people's responses to this place.
They are just overwhelmed, either by the irises in the spring, the camellias in the winter, the birds all year round, all the other varieties of flora and fauna that we have out here.
-While walking around with Colette, some other sculptures caught my eye.
So, I decided to find the artist that created them, and it happened to be local sculptor Grainger McKoy.
Next thing I knew, I was in his studio learning how he works and talking with the bird artist himself.
-This is where I work.
This is where I live.
-Oh, man, this is beautiful.
-I told my mother I wanted to carve a bird.
So, at 13, I said, "I needed some dry wood," so she put a saw in my hand, went out and lifted me up by my belt, and let me cut off the end of her house.
You know, the logs?
-Uh-huh.
-I mean, she loved this log cabin, but she sacrificed the end of her log cabin to let me carve my first bird.
-You still have it?
-Yeah.
I gave it to my wife in high school as a gift, and I had to marry her to keep it.
[ Both laugh ] It's in the house.
So, anyway... -I don't know much about birds or the art of sculpting, but Grainger can tell you just about anything you want to know.
He showed me his early models of the sculptures you see today at Swan Lake, some upcoming pieces he's working on for a new museum, and even a few frozen birds and rattlesnakes he uses to create his incredibly accurate pieces of art.
So, everything in here has got a story.
-Everything -- that's how life's a story.
-Yeah.
-Young people come through here, and I encourage people to find their passion.
-Yeah.
-Very few people ever find their passion.
-Yeah.
-You found your passions.
-Yeah, yeah.
Every corner of Grainger's studio had a story and was a source of imagination and creativity.
I may not be a sculptor, but I agree with Grainger.
If you can, find your passion, whether it's birds, music, or some other spark.

-Speaking of finding your way home, legendary New York Yankees second baseman and Sumter native Bobby Richardson has been back in his hometown since retiring in 1966.
I got to talk with Bobby before the ribbon cutting and dedication of Bobby Richardson Field at Riley Park.
What was it like to be a New York Yankee in the '50s and '60s?
-Well, it was the team, and they won nine out of the first ten years I played.
I started in '55 as a 19-year-old, and we played the Dodgers, '55 and '56.
Milwaukee '57, '58.
'59 was the only year we didn't win.
-Besides being a remarkable teammate on the field, Bobby was also a respected and beloved friend off the field, so much so that he gave the eulogy at a number of his former teammates' funerals, including Yankee heroes Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle.
-In fact, Roger's was one of the first ones I had, and it's really funny.
But when the funeral was over, we got on a motor home going back to the hotel, and Mantle sat down by me and he said, "I want you to have my funeral."
And I thought, "Well, that'll never happen," you know?
But he would always remind me, "Don't forget now."
And, sure enough, that time came, and I did.
-Eight-time All-Star, five-time Gold Glove winner, three-time World Series champion, and the only World Series MVP from the team that didn't win -- Bobby Richardson's 11-year Major League Baseball career reached heights most can only imagine.
But for Bobby and for most of us, when it comes down to it, there's no place like home.
